Welcome to the GrandValli Newsletter!

Hi there,

For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Salina Edwards. I am a volunteer rugby coach with a diverse work background and an interest in small businesses.

I started GrandValli to create a central place where people can find small business products and services. I found it challenging to support small businesses in my area if you didn’t know where to look, who to talk to, or if you didn’t go to the farmers’ markets. I wanted to create something that anyone could access anywhere at any time from their phone or laptop.

Now, I created a platform for GrandValli to run some tests on the idea and I learned that there is an interest in having something like this. However, I realized as a one person show, you have to be more strategic with where you put your energy. For me I put my energy in social media and while that is a need. It wasn’t my strength, and it played a role in me losing interest and the sight of my why.

Have no fear though. GrandValli is making its way back, slowly but surely, starting with this newsletter. I believe there are so many small businesses out there that deserve a bit more attention and access to an audience that wants to support them and keep them going. There are so many opportunities to connect people with products and services that are not over produced, always from corporations, and that help keep local communities alive.

Over, the next few posts, I am going to elaborate on GrandValli’s mission and vision, the purpose of this newsletter (why you should care), and the project that will help to get GrandValli going again. I hope you will stick around and let’s discover something grand!
