Let the Project Production Begin
To be honest I am nervous but excited!
Some mini mics have arrived for the project and for the first time reality has set in. GrandValli is working on a big project.
It’s one thing to pitch an idea to someone and hear them say, “Oh, that sounds amazing!”—knowing they have no real involvement. It’s like how a mother will always tell her children how great they are, even when they’re absolutely terrible.
But it’s an entirely different thing to pitch an idea to a group of friends, hoping they’ll be interested but fully expecting them to say no. In that case, the pitch is more of a vague request, like, “Hey, I have this project idea—would you want to be part of a photoshoot if it didn’t cost you anything?”
Then comes the shock when they all say yes—because now, you actually have a project. And if you’re someone who takes accountability seriously, that means you have to follow through. Suddenly, it’s real work.
I say all that to say, that is how the GrandValli multimedia project came to be. It’s funny how quickly an idea can become reality when people say yes, you start having meetings, you start ordering equipment and you start coordinating things.
What can I say some of the best things happen spontaneously! Also there is something so exciting and scary when people say yes to you when you are pitching a project so big (at least in your mind) that you aren’t even sure it can come true. Why? Because those people are saying they believe in you and if you don’t believe in yourself, now you have to.
For me the beginning of this project has forced me to realize a few things:
I have grown and come a far way from when I originally thought of GrandValli.
Sometimes you have to take chances and create your own opportunities.
There is a special level of excitement and joy that comes from being of service and doing things with and for people you think are pretty great.
Sometimes you have to take a leap of faith, be vulnerable and thing what’s the worst that can happen? We fail - okay. We will just try again
You can’t overthink your way into action. You can only do.
You build confidence by keeping the commitments you make to yourself.
I hope as we go on this journey together you find things that are interesting or resonating. This is something I have never done before and I am excited to share it with you. As always, let me know what you think or if you have any questions or comments.

In other news: Shoutout to United Way for their Unite The Night benefit concert. I took a break from writing this and went and the turnout was great. I didn’t stay the whole time but got a glimpse The Lost Junction Band and heard Peach Street Revival was headlining.
Also, to Colorado Craft Coffee and Beer House. I go there all the time to work on things.
