From Cookie-Cutter to Custom Legacy

In all seriousness, I came across a small business that makes custom table, cutting board, wine racks, and other items. I asked them to make me a coffee table and I was blown away by the result, so I wanted to share.

I came across Legacy Furniture LLC on Instagram and noticed some of the pieces they created. What stood out to me is how the irregular the pieces looked and how the epoxy on the tables, for example, highlighted the grooves in the wood. Each piece was different like a unique signature fingerprint. I wasn’t looking for any furniture for a minute until I moved and decided it was the best opportunity to furnish a place with some unique pieces and make it my own.

I reached out to them. They were quick to respond and soon Hazen, the owner, and I were taking measurements, talking about colors, wood preferences and legs. Hazen is amazing. Not only does he help you to determine the best size, but he also helps you pick the best legs out of those you prefer, updates you through the process, and then delivers the piece and sets it up for you. The whole process felt less like a transaction and more like a collaboration.

What happened when my piece arrived? I was ecstatic and smiling. I left like a kid on Christmas Day. It was a gift I gifted myself. A gift that you no one else in the world has - that’s something special. Plus, its more than a piece of furniture, it’s a conversation starter, a centerpiece, and a signature of you.
