Can I Be Honest About Something?

The Vulnerabilities of Starting Something When You Struggle to Always Believe in Yourself

So many times, in my life, people have told me that I am intimidating or mysterious. Some felt I had a strong presence or was always so serious. Others thought I was very private, never opened up, or always had hidden secrets. It was always interesting to hear what people perceived about me. Based on everything I’ve heard, I think many would be surprised to learn that, for a long time, in some ways, I was faking it until I made it—or at least working through it.

Working on GrandValli and the vision I have in mind—both for GrandValli itself and its connection to a bigger purpose—has challenged me in many ways. The biggest challenge has been believing in my own ability to create, lead, and turn an idea into something real.

Have you ever worked on something and, in the process, discovered more about your own vulnerabilities or fears? It’s a different experience when you are the driving force behind the dream rather than just playing a part in it.

Some insecurities that have surfaced for me:

  • Fear of success

  • My own expectations

  • Disappointing others based on what I thought this could be

  • Questioning whether I am the right person to bring these ideas to life

Can you relate to any of these? Have you encountered your own doubts while working on projects you deeply care about?

Through this process, I am learning a few key lessons as my fears and insecurities are revealed:

  • Fear can be an indication that you care

  • The only way out is through

  • Action leads to clarity

Why am I sharing this with you? Because I believe in being honest with you—the supporters and believers of GrandValli. I don’t always know exactly what I’m doing, but I hope that by sharing my journey, you find encouragement in knowing that whatever you're working on, you’re not alone in the struggle.

Now, back to GrandValli—here are some exciting updates:

  • We’ve launched the blog, and our first post is live! The blog will focus on business and project updates, while the newsletter will continue to be a space for insider information, ideas, and experiences.

  • Our first two podcast episodes are edited and ready to go! We’ll be releasing them soon, and I think they turned out pretty well. I’d love to hear your feedback—what worked, what didn’t, and what could be improved.

  • I’ve been brainstorming some event ideas. What do you all think? Should we add events, merch, gift boxes, or something else?

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts! As always, thank you for supporting GrandValli. If you have any questions, comments, or ideas, feel free to email me directly at [email protected] or [email protected].
